You may have been scared off SCUBA from movies on Direct TV about sharks and being left in the open ocean but don’t be! If you’re thinking about getting into the exciting world of diving here are a few tips for first-timers
Take a Class – your first step should be to find a licensed dive center near you (there are more than you think) and take a SCUBA class. You’ll learn how to breathe and swim correctly and you’ll feel far more in control in the water even when you’re not diving.
Buy Some Gear – get a few pieces of gear like flippers to help incentivize you to dive. The more you spend upfront the less likely you’ll be to chicken out when the time to dive actually rolls around.
Plan a Trip – Go online and plan a SCUBA centric trip to the Bahamas or somewhere equally great for SCUBA. Start off small with some snorkeling and work your way up to a big dive the last day of the trip – you’ll have a blast, we promise!

The time of our childhood is filled with flights of fancy and realms of imagination. Countless children read the stories of pirates and lost fleets and sunken treasure. Many children played the game of pirates as well. Boys and girls would swashbuckle and say arr matey all the while looking for buried sunken treasure. Imagine if there truly was buried treasure to be found .Imagine that it is all not just the imaginations of long authors or of children. Imagine no longer, our childhood imaginations were not based on myths but on truth. Many ships whether pirate, fleet, government or commercial have sunken in the Atlantic Ocean. These sunken treasures contain millions upon millions dollars of gold, silver and other valuable historical items. For many adventures men and women the act of searching for sunken treasure is a hobby and even for some a career. Fortunately almost anybody with the desire and resources to search for buried treasure can fulfill that dream. Scuba classes are of course necessary as well as a love of research. Modern day adventures spend much time in the library records record of lost ships. This research is well compensated with the thrill of discovery and financial reward of a long lost sunken treasure ship.

When you plan on diving on shipwrecks, it can be difficult to find the proper items to go diving with. This is when you should know some two tips for finding the proper equipment. Without these tips, it will be rather easy to select the wrong gear and this could lead to a disaster under the water.

One tip will be to find a tank that is large enough to hold quite a bit of air. Now you may not think you will need a lot of air, but remember ship wrecks are generally tangled messes. The whole story can be found at http://leashcolon.com/2011/08/03/free-diving-an-extreme-sport/ Since they are so tangled, it is possible to get stuck and have to free yourself at times.

Another tip will be to take down some tools with you. Generally the tools will be used to cut your way out of the messes you can get in. However, they will also be used to help you light up the area you are trying to get into as well.

Diving on shipwrecks has become the past time for many people. The problem that many people will encounter is not knowing about the tips they need to use for locating the proper equipment. Once you have these tips, it will be easy to find the proper gear to go diving with at any point in time.

Imagine slowly falling through the clear waters of the Florida Keys. Diving down, you feel the oppression and isolation of entering a world alien to us landlubber humans. Slowly, out of the darkness, a huge shape starts to become clear on the ocean bottom. It’s a ship, one of the countless poor vessels who met her end in the tropical waters off of America’s east coast. How old is she? Where did she come from? How did she succumb to the ocean? More importantly – what was she carrying?

If you enjoy treasure diving, then there is no better place in the world than the Florida Keys to plan your next adventure. Thousands of shipwrecks dot the ocean landscape. Many have already been discovered and picked through, but there are still a ton of ships unaccounted for who met their watery end in these pristine waters. From trade galleons loaded with precious cargo bound for the American colonies to warships steeped in historic mystery, the variety of wreaks provide endless dive opportunities. It doesn’t matter if you are a novice just getting into the sport of SCUBA or an experienced diver on a quest to discover the unknown. A trip to the Florida Keys is well worth the effort. What will your adventure be?

Scuba diving is fast becoming one the most popular hobbies for those in the proper environment. Diving in and around coral reefs in one the most beautiful experiences you can have while scuba diving. If you are looking to reef dive along the Atlantic Coast of the US the best place to go is off the shore of South Florida.

South Florida boasts the only natural reef on the Atlantic coast of North America. With a diversity of wildlife that you will not see anywhere else South Florida and the Florida Keys is the destination of a lifetime for all reef diving enthusiasts. You can start a trip in Miami and head down through the Florida Keys and still not have seen all there is to see of this truly beautiful natural reef.

While South Florida has the only truly “natural” reef on the Atlantic Coast there are still multiple other destinations that you can travel to and dive in a artificial reef. The term “artificial reef” is a little misleading. There is nothing fake about the beautiful coral and wildlife that you can dive down to see. What is artificial is the structure they are built around, often decommissioned military vehicles or scuttled ships.
